Privacy policy

How this website handles your data. Short, because there isn't much.

In short: this website sets no cookies, shows no ads and loads nothing from third-party servers. Fonts and images are served from our own server. We measure visits with Tacilytics itself, without cookies and without storing IP addresses.

2. Hosting and server logs

This website runs on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, in a data centre in Germany. Hetzner processes data on our behalf as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR.

To deliver the pages, the web server necessarily processes your IP address. We do not keep access logs for this website. Error messages of the web server may briefly contain technical data and are only used to fix problems. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (secure and reliable operation of the website).

3. Visitor statistics (Tacilytics)

We use our own, self-hosted instance of Tacilytics to understand how this website is used. No cookies are set and nothing is stored on or read from your device. For each page view we process the page address, the referring page, browser type, operating system, device class, language and timezone (from which we derive the country).

Your IP address and browser identifier are used only in memory to create a one-way hash for the current day and are never stored. The random value behind this hash is replaced every day, so visits cannot be linked across days and we cannot identify you. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our website. You can block the script in your browser at any time; if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we honour it.

4. Contact form and email

If you contact us via the form or by email, we process the details you provide (name, email address, company, your message) to answer your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (answering general enquiries). Form submissions are stored on our server in Germany and forwarded to our mailbox, which is hosted on our own mail server in Germany. Your IP address is used only briefly to prevent abuse and is not stored with your request. We delete your data when your request has been dealt with, unless statutory retention periods apply.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). To exercise these rights, email us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW).

6. Changes

We update this policy when the website changes. Last updated: 14 October 2026.
